A genital herpes diagnosis can be painful and embarassing. Often, people recently diagnosed with genital herpes aren't sure how their condition will impact their life, and they feel out of control.
Luckily, there are several steps you can take to ensure both you and your partner stay healthy and safe.
Here are a few tips for living with genital herpes:
Avoid having sex is you have an active infection.
If you have an active infection, keep the sores clean and dry.
If you have active sores, don't touch them. If you must touch them, wash your hands throughly afterward.
Even when you don't have an active infection, always practice safe sex.
